Burgerwald Survival Trail

The Burgerwald Survival Trail is a trail race held in late February in Le Mouret, Switzerland, located in the canton of Fribourg. Participants navigate a 7 km loop within the Fribourg Prealps. Each circuit includes 500 m of elevation gain, and runners have a 1 hour 15 minute time limit per lap. The race continues until only one runner remains on the course, resembling a survival challenge more than a typical fixed-distance trail race. The event embraces its unique format with the slogan "I Will Survive." It is described as "Farfelu," meaning quirky or eccentric, and the 7 km trail is listed as its most popular distance.
