Eiger Bike-Challenge

The Eiger Bike-Challenge begins and ends at Bärplatz in Grindelwald, Switzerland, with the mountain's north face, which lends the race its name, as a backdrop. This off-road marathon takes place on an August weekend, attracting around 1,000 participants and ranking among Switzerland's top five mountain bike events. Riders can select from multiple routes. Options range from a 20 km course with 900 meters of elevation gain to a long 80 km route covering 4,200 meters. Intermediate distances include a 30 km route with 1,500 meters, a 45 km route with 2,124 meters, and a 50 km route with 2,500 meters. Organized by Verein Eiger Bike Challenge and part of the Bike Marathon Classics series, the event also features a children's race. This attracts marathon racers, local cyclists, families, volunteers, and individuals seeking a challenging ride in Grindelwald over a flat speed competition.
