About this race
Gantrisch Trail is a November trail-running event held in Riggisberg, canton of Bern. It offers race options for adults, juniors, kids, runners, and walkers. The main distances are K35, K23, and K11, alongside Junior and Kids Trail categories. This setup accommodates both ambitious trail runners and those seeking a shorter or easier outing. Organizers present it as a family-friendly season finale in the Gantrisch region, supported by children’s races complementing the longer mountain routes.
The K35 presents the greatest challenge, featuring three steep ascents and a varied course of forest roads, grassy climbs and descents, short trail segments, and recurring open vistas. The K23 maintains a similar trail character with two steep ascents, forest paths, grassy uphill sections, short trails, and views towards the Jungfrau massif and the mountains of Gantrisch Nature Park. The K11 route ascends to Gibelegg, utilizes singletrack to reach its highest point within the forest, then descends rapidly with views of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and the Gantrisch region. The Kids Trail route remains near the school grounds for the youngest participants, while older children navigate a loop towards the village.
