About this race
The Maloja Seelauf begins and ends at the Sala multiuso in Maloja. Each September, participants embark on a gentle trail race encircling Lake Sils. This event accommodates diverse runners: seasoned trail runners may view it as a calm autumn run, while novices encounter a trail route lacking significant ascents or difficult terrain. Those seeking a less demanding day can divide the course into a two-person relay, with a complimentary shuttle bus assisting relay coordination.
The route completes a full circuit of Lake Sils, utilizing lakeside paths and passing notable spots like Sils Baselgia and Grevasalvas before concluding back in Maloja. Aid stations offer basic provisions with a local character: water and sweetened tea are available along the way. Sils Baselgia provides bananas and pear bread, and the finish line offers Coca-Cola, tea, pear bread, and apples. The day commences early at the multi-purpose hall, where coffee is served before the race.
