Morat-Fribourg is a Swiss race weekend centered on a 17.17 km point-to-point run from Morat to Fribourg, taking place annually on the first Sunday in October. The primary race begins on Hauptgasse in Morat and concludes in Fribourg, featuring 335 m of elevation gain and 179 m of descent, indicating it is not a flat course. The event also offers participants a shorter 9.65 km Courtepin-Fribourg option, a walking category, and the Trail moitié-moitié for those seeking a more extensive off-road challenge. The weekend covers multiple formats rather than a single start. Friday features the Course des Téméraires at dusk. Saturday is dedicated to the Mini Morat-Fribourg children’s races through Fribourg’s streets, alongside the FAMIGROS RUN WIN and UNIFIED RUN. The main course's history predates modern road racing, commemorating the 1476 Confederate victory over Charles the Bold at Morat. Thousands of participants compete in the October race, and the event provides essential race-day services, such as transport details, bag storage, changing facilities, medical stations, spectator information, and a youth support program called “5 francs for the youth.”
