About this race
The Trail de la Vallée de Joux is a mountain trail-running event held in L'Abbaye, Vaud canton, Switzerland, during early October. Participants can select from four loop courses: 13 km, 22 km, 36 km, and 59 km. Additionally, there are separate races for children and juniors. The 59 km course is the most popular, though shorter distances offer the same Jura scenery for those seeking a less demanding run.
The courses traverse the natural mountain terrain of the Vallée de Joux in the Jura mountains. Each main distance is designed as a single loop. The event is also connected to the Trail Dent de Vaulion via the Challenge des Maîtres du Temps, and prize draws are included on race day. Previous information indicates an earlier 76 km edition and a runner's feedback noting the organization's quality, despite the challenging final 10 km. This suggests the race features scenic mountain trails, good organization, and sufficient elevation and distance to be demanding.
