On the first Sunday in October, Rudná hosts Balvanův běh, a running event organized by Skautské středisko Balvan Rudná. Adults and teenagers aged fifteen and up compete on a 5.5 km course, while children run age-appropriate distances of 300 meters, one kilometer, or two kilometers. Recent participation has been community-sized, with dozens of adults and children at the start rather than a large field.
The race has over two dozen editions, maintaining a practical, volunteer-run atmosphere: the start area offers a buffet, toilets with running water, and a changing room. A portion of the entry fees supports the Pomozte Dětem charity, and participants or observers can donate during the event via the charity’s chicken-shaped collection box. Local runners are prominent, with recent winners hailing from nearby locations like Cheznovice and Rudná.
