Běh Moravským krasem is a 12.2 km cross-country race held in Sloup, a village in the Blansko District of South Moravia. The main race begins at the elementary school playground and takes place in September, with a children’s program held earlier in the day. This is a mixed-surface local race, not solely a road event: the initial and final two kilometers are on asphalt, with the majority of the middle section off-road, much of it through forest. TJ Sloup v Moravském krasu organizes the event, which is open to all age groups, and children participate for free.
The route extends from Sloup to the Macocha Abyss and returns to the school grounds, establishing the race's distinct local character. A notable feature is the ascent of 144 stairs to the Upper Macocha Bridge, a specific obstacle on an otherwise runnable forest course. Children compete in their own races on the school’s tartan track, with distances ranging from short 60 m runs for the youngest participants to 1000 m for older children. In addition to the school activities, the day includes a Honey Fair with music, stalls, refreshments, and a bouncy castle, integrating the race into a small village event rather than a standalone competition.
