Potůčky is located directly on the Czech-German border in the Ore Mountains. Běžím Krušnohořím Potůčky utilizes this setting for a short mountain-area running event. The race is part of the Běžím Krušnohořím series and is scheduled for late June, offering a 6 km option.
The course details are limited, but the location provides the race with a distinct identity. It takes place in a small municipality within the Karlovy Vary Region, adjacent to Johanngeorgenstadt. The setting is a border forest landscape at approximately 695 metres above sea level. Potůčky was formerly known as Breitenbach, a German name signifying “village on the wide stream.” Saxon miners were drawn to the area by ore deposits, and the Czech-Saxon border was established near its present alignment following a sixteenth-century accord.
