Butovský Kros - Memoriál Karla Formánka is a cross-country running event in Butoves, organized by TJ Butoves and the municipality. Now in its twentieth edition, it also honors the Karel Formánek Memorial. The event begins with children’s races, followed by junior and adult races. Participants can choose from several options: the main race, an 8.6 km “Iron Woman” run, and a 4.3 km “Run for All” for those seeking a shorter distance.
The course winds through the Butov forests, primarily flat with gentle inclines and varied terrain including asphalt, meadows, paved forest and field paths, and unpaved tracks. In the main race, men cover 8.6 km, while women and juniors run 4.3 km, with staggered starts. The “Iron Woman” race precedes the main race, allowing women to compete in both. The field typically includes local participants of all ages, numbering in the higher dozens, with awards presented for all races and categories, followed by a cultural program.
