About this race
The Plesenský půlmaraton begins at the elementary and kindergarten school in Plesná. Children race first on the oval, followed by cyclists, half-marathon runners, and 10 km runners later in the morning. The primary event is a 21 km half marathon for runners, though the same distance is also available for cyclists, accommodating multiple endurance disciplines. Registration is open in the morning with modest entry fees, with separate pricing for the half marathon, the Starostenská desítka 10 km race, tourists, and children.
The schedule offers several options: a 21 km run, a 21 km cycling race, the 10 km Starostenská desítka, 10-13 km tourist routes, and a children’s race with one or two laps based on age and ability. The 10 km race was developed with the Club of Czech Tourists, KČT, catering to runners not seeking the half marathon and to walkers or tourists who enjoy running without a primary focus on time. Half-marathon categories separate men and women aged 15 and older, the cycling race includes adult and youth categories, and the top three in each half-marathon category receive a diploma and medal. The Starostenská desítka includes a practical incentive: finishers within 75 minutes are entered into a prize draw.
