Silvestrovský běh Karviná is a New Year’s Eve 10 km road race held in Karviná, Moravian-Silesian region, Czech Republic. The main race begins in the morning on asphalt roads bordering the city. With approximately 100 meters of elevation gain, it offers a challenging town road race rather than a simple flat run. TJ Jäkl Karviná is the organizer, and the event also features free children’s races within the local forest park.
The day caters to both club runners and local families. Registered participants join via their clubs, while parents can sign up unregistered children. The children’s races cover shorter distances in the forest park: 200 m, 350 m, 900 m, or 1.8 km, based on age category. The 10 km race is included in the MSBP and BPKR running cups. Its established history is evident, with editions already reaching the forties. Post-race refreshments and awards for top finishers mark it as a local end-of-year racing tradition, distinct from a typical winter 10K.
