11. Kelheimer Volksfestlauf

The Kelheimer Volksfestlauf takes place at Am Pflegerspitz in Kelheim, held in mid-August during the local Volksfest. Run & bike Kelheim e.V. organizes the event, with Kelheim’s mayor serving as patron. It features separate races for children, youth, and adults, rather than a single mass start. The youngest participants run approximately 400 meters around the festival grounds in the Bambini “Karussell” race. School-age runners compete on a 2 km out-and-back course. Youth runners complete one timed 5 km lap, and adults race the Volksfest Lauf over two 5 km laps. The Schüler and Jugend races are part of the Laufcup in Landkreis Kelheim. Participants collect their race materials in the beer tent before the start.
