About this race
The Vohwinkeler Fuchslauf begins and ends at the Waldkampfbahn sports ground in Vohwinkel, located in the western part of Wuppertal, Germany. This local running event, held in June, is organized by Vohwinkeler STV 1865/80 e.V. It features short track races for children, 5 km and 10 km races for youth and adults, and a 5 km Nordic walking option.
The longer courses depart the stadium and proceed through Osterholz via Eulenkopfweg. The youngest children remain on the track for 400 m, 800 m, and 1.6 km races. A unique aspect is the Bambini run: all young participants are considered Fuchslauf finishers, regardless of completing the full 400 m, and each receives a fox-run medal. Older children compete in a 3.2 km race, and adults are categorized into ten-year age groups. Early registrants may receive a finisher shirt and a bib with their name printed on it.
