About this race
The Hahnenkamm run is a forest running event held at the Hahnenkamm sports ground in Edelsfeld. The start and finish are at FC Edelsfeld’s home ground. It takes place in June and marks its 23rd year, offering races for Bambini, children, youth, adults, and walkers. The event has a local, practical atmosphere: entry fees are modest, online payment is an option, and participants can use changing rooms, showers, and a cloakroom at the sports facility.
The courses are located in the Hahnenkamm recreation area, with paths marked in advance to allow for pre-race training. Hobby runners, strong athletes, children, and parents attend. Organizers focus on the younger participants, providing weekly children’s training starting in May and an earlier children’s award ceremony to minimize waiting times. All participants receive a certificate, top young runners get trophies, adult winners receive prizes, and walkers get timed certificates without rankings. Refreshments are available at the start-finish area, with an additional drink station on the men’s course around the 4 km mark.
