About this race
The Generali Köln Half Marathon begins in Deutz and concludes next to the Kölner Dom, featuring a prominent city landmark at both the start and finish. This 21.1 km road race follows a flat, fast course, certified by AIMS and DLV, with transponder timing integrated into the race number. As Germany's second-largest half marathon, the event attracts a substantial field, not just a small local gathering.
The course winds through Cologne districts such as Rodenkirchen, Sülz, Lindenthal, Ehrenfeld, Nippes, and the Innenstadt before arriving at the cathedral. Participants will find six aid stations along the route, with music and event points, plus additional announcements at the start, finish, and key points on the course. All finishers are awarded a sustainable medal, and the organizers prioritize providing food at the finish as part of the race day.
