The Bergischen 5 Erwachsenenrunde begins in Wermelskirchen, Germany, guiding participants through a five-stage trail and landscape race. The complete adult course spans 275 km over five consecutive days, featuring approximately 6,400 meters of elevation gain. This makes it more akin to a substantial trek on foot than a typical ultramarathon. The pace required is practical, with a time limit around 10 to 12 minutes per kilometer.
Each day presents a distinct route, and runners have the option to compete in individual stages rather than the entire series. The event intentionally maintains a small field, capped at 75 participants. Stage results often show close competition across distances including 45 km, 50 km, 60 km, and 70 km. A shorter accompanying event, the Kindergartenrunde, is also offered, covering a still considerable 176 km with 4,100 meters of elevation gain. Conibeta GmbH is the organizer, and Thomas Steinicke is the listed contact.
