The Bergischen 5 Kindergartenrunde is a small five-stage ultra race beginning in Wermelskirchen, Germany, with only 75 spots. The entire event spans approximately 176 kilometers across five stages and involves about 4,100 meters of climbing, presenting more of a compact stage adventure than a single long-day ultra.
The course follows landscape and trail paths through the green Bergisches Land region. Participants may enter the complete five-stage race or opt for individual stages. The pace limit of 10 to 12 minutes per kilometer ensures it is challenging without being exclusively for elite runners. Recorded finishes for the full distance range from about 20 to 28 hours, with individual stage results around 45 to 46.5 kilometers.
