About this race
The Nübelmarathon is a small summer race held in Nübel, Schleswig-Holstein. It offers a marathon-distance option slightly longer than standard, measuring approximately 43.2 km. Participants complete four laps, and with a field cap of 200 people, it maintains a local, low-key character distinct from large city marathons.
The route features hills and is divided roughly equally between forest, field, and hiking paths, and asphalt roads. A section of the loop crosses the Langsee military training area, which the Bundeswehr permits access for the race. The course is not officially measured, and runners have a six-hour time limit. Water, cola, fruit, and salty pastries are provided frequently around the circuit.
