The Riesenbecker 6 Stundenlauf is a six-hour road ultramarathon held in Rheine, Germany, alongside Torfmoorsee and organized by SV Teuto Riesenbeck. Participants begin at 9:00 AM and have until 3:00 PM to complete as many laps as possible. An award ceremony follows an hour later. The concept is straightforward: run continuously, track your laps, and determine your total distance within the six-hour timeframe. The race route is a level 2,118-meter circuit on a packed sand path encircling Torfmoorsee, featuring a maximum elevation gain of two meters per lap. It is officially measured by the DLV, including precise remaining-meter tracking, ensuring accurate final distances rather than rounded lap counts. The event attracts a focused group of ultra runners rather than a large assembly, with recent years seeing dozens of male and female participants, not hundreds. Leading runners have surpassed 70 kilometers for men and 60 kilometers for women.
