About this race
The Garbenteicher Volkslauf begins and ends at the sports and cultural hall in Pohlheim-Garbenteich, a town in central Hesse. SV Garbenteich’s athletics department organizes this traditional fun run as part of the Mittelhessen Cup, offering runners three distances: 10 km, a half marathon, and 30 km.
The course bypasses federal roads and railway crossings, providing a local-road character instead of a large-city race atmosphere. An experienced team marks, prepares, and inspects the route multiple times before the start, and seven aid stations will provide water, cola, and tea. Many participants use it as preparation for the Frankfurt Marathon, particularly the 30 km distance. The event uses reusable cups, with support from the Abbey of Schiffenberg.
