About this race
Alb-Extrem is a long-distance road cycling event held in Ottenbach, Baden-Wurttemberg, typically in late June. It is an RTF, an organized cycling tour, featuring marathon-length routes instead of a closed professional race. Participants navigate a set course, must complete it within a specified time, and are free to set their own pace and choose their rest stops.
The routes are challenging, beginning with the 105 km Alb easy option with 1,800 meters of climbing. Distances increase through 175 km, 210 km, and 255 km options, culminating in the Traufkonig route at 305 km with 5,500 meters of elevation gain. Riders on the longer courses have the flexibility to switch to a different route during the event based on their progress. MRSC Ottenbach organizes the event, which has been held for over forty editions and is locally recognized as one of the most demanding bike marathons in Germany's Wilden Suden.
