About this race
The Altstadtlauf Salzwedel begins and ends at the Marktplatz am Bürgercenter in Salzwedel, a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. This mid-September road running event takes place in the old town, offering races from a 500 m Bambini run up to a half marathon. The primary race options are the 5 km Small Old Town Run, the 10 km Great Old Town Run, and the 21.1 km Half Old Town Marathon.
The 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon are each designed as single-loop street races, providing participants with a direct course instead of multiple laps. The route winds through Salzwedel’s Altstadt, passing significant landmarks, which adds a distinct local character compared to a simple out-and-back course. Dedicated races are available for children and families, including a 1 km children’s and youth run and the 500 m Bambini run. Triathlon Foxes Osterburg e.V. is the organizing body.
