About this race
The Aschauer Vorsilversterlauf is an evening street race in Aschau, Bavaria, taking place in the days before New Year's Eve and held annually since 2009. It is a compact local race night, not a long-distance event. The main distance is 5 km, preceded by a 1.7 km children's and school run. The children's race begins at 6:30 PM, followed by the 5 km Hobby run at 7:00 PM and the faster 5 km Night run at 7:45 PM. Lauffeuer Chiemgau Laufbewerbe organizes the event, which typically attracts between 501 and 1,000 participants.
The start is at Kampenwandstraße 4, with races commencing in front of the ice cream shop. The 5 km field is divided by pace: the Hobby run is for participants anticipating a time over 24 minutes for 5 km, while the Night run is for those faster than that. Recent finisher counts in the high hundreds indicate it is substantial enough to feel active without becoming a large city race. Results, start lists, photos, and reports are published via HDsports, and registration is managed through the organizer's website.
