Berliner Volkstriathlon

At Krumme Lanke in Berlin, the Berliner Volkstriathlon offers a sprint triathlon for newcomers, featuring genuine race elements with a club-level atmosphere. The primary race spans 23.7 km: a 0.7 km swim, an 18 km road cycling segment, and a road run following the transition. Participants must be at least 16 years old; non-racing bicycles are permitted, and swimmers may opt to wear wetsuits. The location situates lake water and urban roads in close proximity, with the race centered on Fischerhüttenstraße and adhering to the standard triathlon sequence of swim, bike, run, transition area, and bib number. The distance is suitable for beginners to tackle assertively, yet substantial enough that strategic pacing is still important. Younger participants also have designated events, including a youth distance and the DTU Triathlon School Tour as part of the competition.
