About this race
The Die Flughafenrunde begins at the RC Blau Gelb Langenhagen clubhouse. Riders depart between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, with controls concluding at 4:00 PM. As a German Radtourenfahrt, the focus is on a marked, organized cycling tour, not a competitive race. Participants can select routes of 50, 80, or 130 km. Payment is accepted at the start via cash or card, with no advance registration required. The entry fee is 7 euros for riders with an RTF scoring card and 10 euros for others.
The course proceeds east from Langenhagen toward Hänigsen. Shorter routes loop back through Lahberg. The 130 km option extends north into Wedemark before returning via the airport vicinity, which lends the event its name. The longest route includes aid stations at 50, 80, and 110 km; the 50 km route's first aid station is at 25 km. Refreshments are also available at the start and finish. Showers and restrooms are available at the clubhouse and Sportzentrum II. Riders adhere to BDR RTF regulations, cycle on public roads at their own risk, comply with traffic laws, and utilize designated bike paths when present.
