Fehmarn Marathon 2026

All races at the Fehmarn Marathon start and finish on the athletics track in Burg, the main town on Germany’s Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn. The program includes a 1.4 km kids’ Minilauf, plus 5 km, 12.1 km, half marathon, and full marathon options, catering to families, shorter-distance runners, and marathoners on the same race day. The marathon is a flat single loop on asphalt, gravel, and dike paths. It proceeds from Burg through Neue Tiefe to Burgtiefe, follows the marina and promenade along the south coast toward Staberhuk, continues up the east coast to Presen, then returns inland through villages including Bannesdorf, Klausdorf, Niendorf, and Gahlendorf. The shorter races utilize the same island geography in smaller segments, with Burgtiefe, the marina, the inland lake, Burgstaacken, and the riding club grounds all featured on the routes.
