About this race
Firmenlauf Gütersloh is an after-work company run held in Gütersloh, North Rhine-Westphalia. The start and finish are located on the theater square, directly in front of the town theater. Participants can choose a 2.5 km option, which accommodates walking, or a 5 km run scheduled for later in the evening. This allows teams to include both casual walkers and faster runners. The event primarily features workplace groups, with solo racers being less common, and typically attracts participants in the low thousands.
The route follows a short circuit, beginning at the theater and passing through the Dalkeaue and the edge of the pedestrian zone before returning to the theater. Runners complete the circuit once or twice, depending on their chosen distance. The largest editions have seen approximately 90 teams and between 1,700 to 2,000 participants. Notably, Miele once fielded the largest contingent with 180 finishers, and the Navigator Group also had over 50 colleagues participate. The event's conditions have ranged widely, from cool rain to temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius. One edition experienced strong winds that necessitated the removal of a tent near the finish area.
