About this race
Heartbeat Ultra is a 15-hour charity loop run in Fulda, Germany. Participants decide when to start, pause, and stop. The event is based at Sportpark Johannisau, with a virtual option for remote participation. The objective is to run or walk laps and raise money for children living with half a heart. The format is open-ended; participants can complete a short walk or an ultra runner can go up to 112 km.
The Fulda course is a flat loop of about 6 km, primarily on paved paths, featuring asphalt, paving stones, gravel, and tartan surfaces. The full distance comprises 19 laps, including a shorter final lap, with each lap offering approximately 10 meters of elevation change. The event accommodates beginners, walkers, wheelchair users, club runners, and experienced ultra runners. Fontanherzen e.V. organizes the event, which has a 750-person limit. Amenities include a finisher medal, vegan-friendly runner catering, food for spectators, activities near the stadium start-finish area, and a brunch the following morning.
