About this race
The Konstanzer Altstadtlauf, also known as the Kuscheltierlauf, is a running event in Konstanz, Germany, typically held in October and organized by Turnverein Konstanz 1862 e.V. The event features short road races, including 4.1 km and approximately 8.1 km distances, with distinct starts for families, children, elite runners, the main field, middle-distance runners, and company teams.
The race name reflects the event's old-town setting. The current iteration followed a revision of the earlier Altstadtlauf, which included a new format, course, and name. It attracts a diverse local participation: schoolchildren and families compete in the late morning, followed by faster men and women in the elite race. Everyday runners participate in the main and middle-distance races, while workplace teams compete in the company run later in the day. Results, start lists, and photos are provided, and registration is managed via the organizer’s website.
