About this race
LOFUtrail begins and ends at Sportplatz Linde in Weilstetten, a district of Balingen in Germany’s Zollernalbkreis. It is a compact trail-running event with short but hilly options: the K5 covers 5 kilometers with 200 meters of climbing, and the K12 covers 12 kilometers with 500 meters of climbing. The races are scheduled in spring, with both main distances run on Saturday.
The K5 is built for a hard, fast effort, featuring a steep climb, a technical descent, and a high share of trail underfoot. The K12 uses the established route over Hörnle and Tieringen, picking out singletrack around Weilstetten. TV Weilstetten organizes the event, and the setup stays local: bib pickup at the sports ground in the morning, food from late morning, and a finisher party for runners, spectators, and fans. Earlier editions also included a Friday evening AFTERWORKtrail over 4.5 kilometers with 200 meters of climbing, so the series has leaned toward short, punchy mountain running rather than long-distance trail racing.
