About this race
The Rheinhöhenlauf RUN50 is a 50 km running event in northern Rhineland-Palatinate, based around Linz am Rhein and taking place on the second-to-last weekend of September. The RUN50 includes approximately 1000 meters of elevation gain and is divided into three sections, giving it the feel of a short stage race rather than a single continuous ultra.
The course follows mostly paved forest trails in the region between the Westerwald and the Siebengebirge, with recent adjustments to the route over the hills near Linz, Ockenfels, St. Katharinen, Dattenberg, and Ariendorf. The weekend also features shorter races, walking events, and a children's run for local youth. The event provides runner services like food and gear transport, along with live music and a raffle. Its proceeds benefit the Franziskus Hospital Linz am Rhein association.
