About this race
Rund um Sachsen is an ultracycling race circumnavigating Saxony, featuring a classic 900 km route tracing the state border with approximately 8,500 metres of elevation gain. A 500 km option is also available, offering around 5,400 metres of climbing, ensuring even this shorter distance presents a significant, mountain-focused challenge.
The 900 km course represents the original challenge, covering a complete border loop of Saxony. The 500 km route incorporates sections of the longer course and features the Fichtelberg, Saxony's highest mountain, as its primary ascent. The race also serves as the European Championship for solo and supported ultracycling, attracting athletes prepared for extended durations, substantial elevation, and strategic pacing across demanding distances.
