Shark Run 2026

The Shark Run is a Fourth of July morning race in Orange Beach, Alabama. The start and finish are at The WHARF Convention Center on Canal Road. It includes a 5K run, a competitive 5K walk, and a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, all beginning at 7:00 a.m. Central time. The 5K run and walk are in their 11th edition. The shorter option provides families and casual participants a way to join the event with less pressure. The setup is straightforward: run or walk from The Wharf, finish back at the venue, and remain for the DJ-led awards party. Every participant receives a finisher medal. The 5K run and walk also award custom age-group medals in five-year divisions. Competitive walkers are their own field. The event is centered around Independence Day at the Gulf Coast, featuring an early start, short race options, medals for all, and a finish area designed for post-race gathering.
