Silvesterlauf Steinfeld/Mühlen 2026

The Silvesterlauf Steinfeld/Mühlen is a New Year’s Eve running event in Mühlen, part of Steinfeld in Lower Saxony. Runners choose between 10 km, 6.5 km, and 3 km, with Nordic walking and hiking included on the shorter-distance program. The start and finish are at the Schützenhalle Mühlen, and the schedule is compact: the 10 km field goes first, followed shortly after by the other distances. SV Grün-Weiß Mühlen started the race in 1986, and it now draws more than 1,000 participants in busy editions. The event is built around local volunteer work, including a team that sets up the Schützenplatz, and it goes ahead in any weather. Entry fees support social causes, especially Sportler gegen Hunger and the Menschen für Menschen foundation, so the race works as both a year-end community run and a fundraiser. Catering, medical care, and an awards ceremony are part of race day.
