About this race
SportScheck RUN Nürnberg is part of the SportScheck RUN city-running series, a German public race series held in multiple cities since 1979. The Nuremberg event offers 5 km, 10 km, or half marathon distances, accommodating various athlete types. The series is organized by the sports retailer SportScheck and is one of Germany’s larger mass-participation running events.
The SportScheck RUN circuit spans cities including Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Dresden, Stuttgart, Bremen, Leipzig, Hanover, Erfurt, and Nuremberg. The inaugural city run in Munich’s Färbergraben attracted nearly 1,000 participants. A tradition from the start remains: the SportScheck T-shirt functions as the race entry ticket. Participants receive a medal, and children up to twelve can enter free short DAK kids’ runs. The series also features CorporateRUN, Night RUN, and District RUN formats. SportScheck supports charity through the runs, donating five cents per kilometer to the “Sport im Hort” project, which aids after-school care centers under the patronage of ski racer Felix Neureuther.
