About this race
The SpoWo-Lauf "Rund um die Kleinleipischer Hochkippe" is a local running event held at the SV "Glück Auf" Kleinleipisch sports grounds in Lauchhammer, Germany. It begins at 10:15 AM and is designed for everyday runners, families, teams, and participants of all genders. The available distances are 0.8 km, 3.6 km, 7 km, and 10.5 km, positioning it as a community race day rather than a specialized road-running competition. Registration fees are kept low, team discounts are available, and participants can sign up in advance or on race day with cash payment accepted on site.
The courses circle the Kleinleipisch spoil tip, utilizing forest and meadow paths away from traffic. The terrain consists mainly of firm natural trails with minimal asphalt, short cross-country segments, mostly level ground, and a few minor inclines. Each race distance follows a single loop, with the exception of the 800 m route, which features a turnaround loop. Races longer than 10 km include an aid station on the course, in addition to refreshments at the start and finish areas. All finishers get a printed certificate, and medals are distributed until supplies run out, reflecting the event's practical, club-organized nature.
