About this race
The St. Georgener Stadtfestlauf is a town-festival road running event in St. Georgen im Schwarzwald, offering races from very young children up to a 21.1 km half marathon. TV 1863 St. Georgen e.V. organizes the event, with options for a 5 km race, a 10.5 km race, the half marathon, school races, and short Bambini runs of approximately 400 m. It is a midsized local event, typically attracting 301 to 500 participants, and one past edition had 536 finishers.
The race day accommodates both competition and participation. Age groups are divided by birth year with separate male and female categories. The St. Georgener Gesundheitslauf provides 5 km or 10.5 km options without timing, age limits, or placings. Nordic Walking and other running styles are permitted in the health run, running alongside the ranked races. The event is part of the Intersport Denzer Cup, which began in 2011, and maintains a local character through sponsored race names like the Sparkasse Schwarzwald-Baar 5 km, the Volksbank eG-Die Gestalterbank 10.5 km, and the ebmpapst half marathon. Bambini children participate for free, spectators are admitted without charge, and award ceremonies take place in the Bürgersaal at Roter Löwen.
