About this race
Stoppelfeld-Ultra is a small Backyard Ultra held at SV Blatzheim in Kerpen-Blatzheim, on the rural edge of the Rhineland. It begins in summer and follows the classic backyard rule: runners start a 6.706-kilometer lap each hour. Anyone missing the time limit or failing to start the next lap is eliminated. The field is limited to 50 participants, and the race is self-supported with mandatory gear.
The route is a precisely measured loop on field and farm paths around Blatzheim, mostly flat with a few gentle inclines. The full setup indicates 30 laps for 201 kilometers, but the format emphasizes repetition, patience, and starting again on the hour, rather than racing at high speed from the beginning. The small entry limit aims for a local endurance gathering feel rather than a large anonymous ultra. The organizing club contributes sport-event experience from football and triathlon.
