About this race
StreutalTrail begins and ends at the sports field in Mittelstreu, located in Germany's Rhön region. All routes divert from asphalt onto gravel, forest, and meadow paths. This trail-running event typically takes place on a Sunday in November, offering both running and Nordic walking options. The available distances include a 5 km run, walk, or Nordic walk with 60 meters of elevation gain; a 10 km race with 140 meters; a 15 km race with 300 meters; and a 42 km marathon with 800 meters, which can also be completed as a relay.
The race caters to trail runners, regular runners, walkers, and nature enthusiasts, not exclusively specialists. Its marathon is noted as the sole marathon in the region, adding significance to the longest route on the local running calendar. The event also marks the conclusion of the Trailrunning Cup Rhön, attracting some participants focused on series standings, while others opt for shorter distances to experience trail running for the first time. It is organized as a charity run, and historically, the first 250 registrations have received a CRAFT functional shirt.
