About this race
Skanderborg Ultraløb 48 hours is a fixed-time ultrarun in Skanderborg. The objective is to run as far as possible within 48 hours, with participants deciding how to manage their time. The 48-hour race commences at noon on Friday and concludes at noon on Sunday. The event has a limited field size and provides chip timing for all participants. Shorter race options are also available during the weekend: a 24-hour race begins at noon on Saturday, and a 12-hour race starts at midnight on Sunday.
The course consists of a 1000-meter loop, designed for runners and crews to easily calculate distance as laps accumulate. The course is illuminated throughout the night. Soup is available in the area near the finish line from midnight until early morning. Quiet hours are observed as some runners rest while others continue running. The 48-hour race records indicate the competitive nature of the event: the men's record stands at 358 km, and the women's record is 286.652 km.
