Broløbet 2026

Broløbet, the Bridge Run, is a half marathon across the Øresund link connecting Denmark and Sweden. It started as a single race for the bridge's opening, then reappeared for its 10th and 25th anniversaries, rather than becoming a regular annual event. MAI and Sparta Atletik are the organizers, and demand can be substantial: one recent edition sold out in under an hour after the online waiting list became overwhelmed. The initial course began on Amager at the Danish side, passed through the tunnel beneath the artificial island of Peberholm, traversed the Øresund Bridge, and concluded in Limhamn, Malmö. Subsequent editions maintained the Denmark-to-Sweden half-marathon concept, featuring a route from Tårnby to Sibbarp. The inaugural event attracted over 90,000 participants and 79,719 finishers, establishing it as the largest half marathon on record and one of the most significant running events ever held. Spectator numbers have remained high during its returns, with tens of thousands of runners, complemented by modern features like live tracking via a race app, commemorative bags, and optional official shirts.
