About this race
The Copenhagen Half Marathon is a 21.0975 km race through Copenhagen, Denmark, run on a very flat course through the Danish capital. It is organized by Sparta Atletik & Motion and Dansk Atletik Forbund, and it started big: nearly 24,000 people registered for the first edition. The race is part of the SuperHalfs series, which links it with other major European half marathons.
Fast running is a major part of its identity. The course has produced a half marathon world record, and the race records are extremely sharp: 58:01 for men and 1:06:11 for women. The field is not only for elites, though; Copenhagen also draws club runners and regular runners chasing a quick half on flat city roads. The city is also set to host the World Athletics Road Running Championships, with elite runners and mass participants sharing events over the half marathon, 5 km, and one mile distances.
