About this race

CopenHill Climb directs participants up Copenhagen’s artificial mountain, a steep incline constructed atop a waste treatment facility. The event takes place in August in Copenhagen, offering a short hill-climb race for cyclists alongside running events, such as the 3K Hill Smash, which consists of three laps up and down. It commences as an evening gathering, with bib collection and course inspections preceding the races, and continues as a summer party atmosphere with a DJ, beverages, exertion, and spectators situated near the activity. The cycling climb spans approximately 250 meters but presents an immediate challenge: the initial 80 meters exceed a 25% gradient, and the steepest part approaches 35%. Competitors then encounter a bike-and-hike segment requiring them to dismount, carry their bicycles up stairs, remount, navigate twists and turns, and conclude on a final 30-meter ramp resembling a wall. Some participants resort to shouldering their bikes, and one past edition featured an announcer equipped with a water gun amidst the commotion.
