About this race

The FIONIA Long Distance Triathlon, powered by Sparekassen, is a new Danish full-distance triathlon. It is structured as a point-to-point crossing of Funen, from Nyborg to Odense. The event is scheduled for September, but the current edition is marked as postponed. The race follows the classic long-distance format: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km run. A relay option is available for teams. The swim begins at the beach in Nyborg, passing Sinatur Hotel Storebælt, Nyborg Strand, and Hesselet before returning to transition. The course then proceeds west across Funen towards Odense, forming the core concept of the FIONIA format. This event also functions as the open Danish long-distance championship for Age-Group triathletes. Triatlon Danmark created it with local clubs and partners to provide Danish athletes with a domestic full-distance race, particularly as many international long-distance events fill up quickly.
