About this race
Helsingør Trail is an October trail run and hike in Helsingør, Denmark, taking place in Teglstrup Hegn and Hellebæk Skov as part of the Trail Fox Series. The event utilizes one of North Zealand’s most varied nature areas, within Nationalpark Kongernes Nordsjælland, featuring routes through old deciduous forest, bogs, waterside paths, forest roads, and selected singletrack. Participants can select from 30 km, 16 km, 5 km, or a 2 km children’s race, and a 16 km walk is also offered. The terrain is runnable, yet requires attention, with natural climbs, changing ground, fast flow sections, and short technical passages.
The 30 km route is the longest option in Teglstrup Hegn and Hellebæk Skov, featuring 125 meters of climbing and sufficient variation for experienced trail runners seeking a demanding forest course. The 16 km loop includes 61 meters of climbing and alternates between singletrack, forest roads, and waterside sections, suitable for runners and walkers desiring a middle-distance challenge without continuous rough terrain. The 5 km route has 21 meters of climbing and is designed for speed, technique, and elevated heart rate, beneficial for both novice trail runners and faster participants aiming for a short effort in the woods. The kids’ race is a 2 km trail run for ages approximately 3 to 12, with timing, no prizes, medals for all finishers, and a secure route on forest paths and small tracks.
