About this race
Løberen Havneløbet is a Copenhagen harbor run starting at Kastellet on a summer evening, featuring 5 kilometer and 10 kilometer races. The 5 kilometer field is sent off at 18:30, and the event drew 2,227 runners, positioning it between a fast city race and a busy local running night.
The route tours central Copenhagen: water on one side, and Kastellet, Gefionspringvandet, and The Little Mermaid nearby on the other. Spectators and tourists cheer from the route, giving the race a casual harbor-front feel even when the front of the field is moving hard. Christian Okkels won the men’s 5 kilometer race after a late sprint battle, while Anna Emilie Møller won the women’s race despite starting too fast and finding the final kilometer especially tough. The 10 kilometer race can also attract serious Danish talent, including Jacob Sommer Simonsen, the Danish record holder at 10k, half marathon, and marathon.
