About this race
Night TRAIL is a Wednesday evening trail running series held in Marselisborgskovene, near Aarhus. Each race begins at 7:00 PM after dark. Participants can select either a 5 km or 10 km distance, with separate men's and women's categories for each event. The series spans autumn and winter, divided into six rounds. Headlamps, cold weather, and challenging terrain are integral to the experience.
The course starts and ends at the Silistria clubhouse, located within Marselisborgskoven, approximately 4 km from central Aarhus. Runners should anticipate narrow trails, steep inclines, mud, water, sand, and sections through less-explored parts of the forest. The route was scouted and validated by experienced orienteering runners, yet it is clearly marked to allow focus on running rather than navigation. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers, with additional draw prizes available. Points accumulate across all six rounds to determine an overall champion. Post-race, participants gather at the clubhouse for soup, sauna, and socializing. Due to limited parking, arriving by bicycle, on foot, or carpooling is recommended.
