Promenadesvømning (Aarhus Ø)

Promenadesvømning is an open-water swim in Aarhus Bay, starting at Helga Pedersens Plads in Aarhus Ø. Participants select 1000, 2000, or 3000 meters, swimming a 1000-meter loop alongside the promenade. The shorter distances begin together on a Saturday morning in June. A 5000-meter distance is also available, held in conjunction with the Danish Open Championships in open-water swimming. The course design allows distance selection without alteration: one lap for 1000 meters, two for 2000, three for 3000, and five for the championship distance. Aarhus Havsvømning organizes the event, bringing together recreational swimmers and championship competitors on the same waterfront. Post-swim, participants receive complimentary entry to Lighthouse, Denmark's tallest structure, offering panoramic views of Aarhus, the bay, and the swim course from 145 meters high.
