Sandflugtsløbet

Sandflugtsløbet is a family-friendly jogging race in Rørvig, Odsherred, run every year on the last Saturday in October in Sandflugtsplantagen, right beside the Kattegat. FK Odsherred Runners arranges it, and the field is capped tightly enough that organisers expect around 700 places to sell out. Runners and walkers can enter, and the programme also includes a 2 km children's race for 50 DKK. The course sits between Nykøbing Sjælland and Rørvig, so the race is more forest-and-coast outing than city road event. Volunteers are part of the day too, with helpers receiving a ticket to the Sejrsmiddagen, or Victory Dinner. One practical tradition is the medal donation: runners who do not want to keep their medal can give it back for reuse, and 25 DKK per donated medal goes to Julemærkehjemmene.
